"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
God will give us the strength that we need to endure all of the situations in our life. We just have to ask Him for it, when we know that we cannot get through a situation in our own strength.
My grandmother was my best friend, and I always joked that my doctor would have to put me on medication if something ever happened to her because I knew that I would not be able to handle it. Well, she got very sick and started to go down hill quickly. She went from 98 pounds to 68 pounds, and she could not get out of bed without assistance - she was so frail. It killed me to see her like that every day. I know that it bothered her to have to rely on us to help her to the bathroom, bathe or to have to help her get dressed. I knew the time was coming, so I prayed for God's strength to get me through it. I knew that it was going to be very difficult for my mom, and I wanted to be strong for her. I can't explain it any other way, but supernatural strength, given by God, just when I needed it. I was able to hold it together enough to let my grandmother know that I was going to be okay, and that it was okay for her to stop suffering and go be with God, if she felt that He was calling her home. I was able to hold it together when she took her last breath, and I had to be strong for my mom. I was able to be strong on the day of her memorial service for my mom, my children and my siblings. When we got home, I was able to continue grieving, but with continued strength. I was able to get through each and every day, by relying on Him to help me.
If you are going through a difficult time, you can get through it by asking Him to give you the strength that is necessary to weather the storm. He will see you through it. Just put your trust in Him.
